The March 2014 Austin Area MLS Statistics Are Here!

The Austin area MLS statistics are in and things are looking good! Overall, average home sales prices in the Austin area MLS are up approximately 6%, and up 6.6% in the Dripping Springs area. Average days on the market are down from last year as well. In March, average days on the market in all MLS areas decreased from an average of 63 days to an average of 48 days (22.6%) and was also down from an average of 87 days to 83 days (4.6%) in the Dripping Springs area.

Dripping Springs ISD – Upcoming Bond Election

Dripping Springs ISD Bond Election

More changes may be coming to Dripping Springs ISD. At a meeting with Dr. Gearing, the DSISD Superintendent, this past Friday we discussed the upcoming $92 Million bond election. School/student growth is expected to exceed 6.5% year over year in the coming 10 years, and the district expects 5326 additional rooftops in DS by 2024!

The Dripping Springs ISD bond package, scheduled for May 10th, 2014 includes:

  • funding for a new elementary school and a new middle school on Sawyer Ranch Road
  • a new multi-purpose stadium at the existing competition field behind Dripping Springs High School,
  • HVAC system and roof replacements at some schools
  • a baseball/softball complex at Dripping Springs High School,
  • a public access road connecting Dripping Springs High School to Highway 290,
  • district-wide technology renovations and other infrastructure improvements
  • expansion of high school field house/locker room facilities
