World’s Largest Gingerbread House has a Texas address!
As the saying goes, everything is bigger in Texas. And now, that also includes gingerbread houses!
If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to live in a gingerbread house, now’s your chance! Though you may not actually get to live in one, you can go visit the world’s largest Gingerbread house this holiday season in College Station, TX.
This entirely edible creation set a new Guinness World Record at more than 39,000 cubic feet, surpassing the previous record of 36,660 cubic feet set at Mall of America in Minnesota in 2006.
The life-size gingerbread house was built by the Texas A&M Traditions Club using 1,800 pounds of butter, 7,200 eggs, 7,200 pounds of flour and 3,000 pounds of brown sugar and it contains a whopping 36 million calories!
But this holiday treat isn’t just a “sweet” tourist attraction, it’s a way to raise money for a great cause. All money raised from visitors will be donated to St. Joseph’s Hospital trauma center. So, if you’re heading out to College Station for the holidays, be sure to check out this amazing confection and contribute to good cause while you’re at it!
